Starting back in 2006, founder Jack Milford QSM wanted to provide effective safety training, consults, investigations, and operational advice to the Wellington business community, using his extensive tactical knowledge to help frontline staff feel empowered to manage conflict situations with confidence. OPSEC Solutions Limited was born - providing and safety services that were adaptable to and dependent on our clients' needs.

    JACK MILFORD QSM - Managing Director

    As Founder and Managing Director of OPSEC, Jack offers experience across all aspects of security risk assessment, investigations, and training in personal safety. 

    Jack’s expertise comes from over 35 years serving in the New Zealand Army and the Police, the Armed Offenders Squad, the Special Tactics Group, and Close Protection work in high risk environments abroad. Jack was awarded the Queens Service Medal in 2000 for his work with United Nations in East Timor.

    When Jack founded OPSEC, he had one clear goal: to help keep people safe. Drawing from his security background, he saw that frontline staff needed better tools and training to handle challenging situations - whether that's dealing with difficult customers, facing robberies, or managing during a crisis.

    MARCUS FOWLER - South Island Director

    Marcus is OPSEC’s South Island Director. He was a member of the New Zealand Army for 32 years, working in a variety of training and leadership roles rising through the ranks to become an experienced commissioned officer before leaving to join the OPSEC team. 

    Marcus is particularly adept to working comfortably under arduous conditions as encountered in Afghanistan, Lebanon and South Sudan and other hostile environments. Locally, Marcus managed the medical operations centre as part of the Christchurch Emergency Response and Recovery post-earthquake. Marcus brings valuable knowledge and experience in situational safety, risk assessment, detailed planning, and operational management to his OPSEC role.

    FRAN MILFORD - Business Admin Manager

    Fran is your first point of contact and the heart of the OPSEC operation.  Fran takes care of all the background business so the OPSEC team can confidently deliver solutions to our clients. 

    She is kept busy in all things admin, collating operational data, co-ordinating logistics and developing resources.

    ZANE ADAM - Operations Manager

    Zane served 20 years in combat units within the NZ Army.  During this time, he gained vast operational experience during deployments to Afghanistan and East Timor.

    Zane has continued his enthusiasm for training in roles ranging from the Chief Instructor of a Martial Arts School to a Senior Trainer conducting NZ Army Combat Trade Training.  Zane brings considerable skills for operational planning and implementation throughout Aotearoa.

    MARTIN MACDONALD - Trainer, Consultant & Investigator

    Martin MacDonald moved to New Zealand from the United Kingdom in March 2007, having worked for the Metropolitan Police, Central London.

    He has gained extensive knowledge working counter terrorism operations, intelligence investigations and conducted multiple operations such as the Paddington Rail Crash 1999; the aftermath of the Twin Towers 2001 and the London Bombings 2005.

    In 2012 Martin moved to The Royal New Zealand Police College as a tactical trainer, where he was instrumental in establishing new course content and creating a safer workplace environment.  With 26 years of Policing experience, Martin brings considerable experience and knowledge to OPSEC.

    DEBBIE BAKER – Online Learning and Training Consultant

    Debbie has a background in communications, media crisis management and working with young people - particularly those at risk. 

    She is an experienced Facilitator and has worked training a wide range of people throughout Aotearoa, from Politicians to Rangatahi.  Debbie has also spent over 20 years running NGOs and national training organisations.   Her presentation style is energetic, engaging, and hands-on – she can quickly adapt to meet the needs of different learning styles.

    BRETT AMOS - Trainer, Consultant and Investigator

    Brett is a Security Specialist Consultant - Investigator, expert Trainer, and former Police Officer. He led Crime Prevention operations and was instrumental in building relationships with communities in high–risk, war-torn locations throughout the globe.  

    Brett’s work includes quality control and investigations regarding Health and Safety of people during emergencies.
